After nearly a year of sharing insights, templates, and frameworks on what real-world AI governance looks like, I’ve opened enrollment for the AI Governance Foundation Program.

I’ve shared 40+ articles this year with everything from policy templates, inventory cards, control maps, techniques to manage harmful content and design for meaningful human oversight. You reading, and your feedback and questions have been all the motivation I need to keep writing and sharing about the practical experiences building AI safely, securely and lawfully.

One question I get constantly from readers: “How do I actually get started in AI governance?” The next question usually follows close behind: “Where do I learn the practical skills—the things you need beyond textbooks and professional certifications?”

If you’ve been following along, you know I’ve been writing about the translation gaps in AI governance—the disconnect between engineers and lawyers, between compliance frameworks and actual implementation, between what policies say and what practitioners can realistically do. Those gaps exist partly because there’s so little practical guidance available. You can read about the need for an algorithmic assessment in standards documents, but try finding detailed guidance on actually performing one. You can take courses on Responsible AI principles, but where do you learn to build an AI inventory that works when models update continuously, or design human oversight that scales and sustains beyond rubber-stamping?

AI Career Pro and the AI Governance Foundation Program of courses is our answer to those gaps.

What we’ve built

The program gives professionals the practical tools and frameworks to step into AI governance work, whatever your background. I’ve designed it around how governance actually happens in organisations, drawing from our experience building and operating governance frameworks at Microsoft and Amazon, and from the governance challenges we’re solving right now in our own AI system development.

You can start with our free course, “Become an AI Governance Pro”—about an hour, 14 short videos - to understand what AI governance professionals actually do and how your existing expertise translates into this field.

From there, the foundation program includes sixteen courses released progressively over the coming months. Course 1 covers the technologies, harms, and governance challenges that make AI oversight essential, with more than 40 real case studies. Course 2 gets into the practical work of organising governance in your organisation—roles, responsibilities, inventory, principles and commitments that work in practice.
